Diagnostic / Examination
of Acute Appendicitis

If appendicitis progresses and causes peritonitis, muscle stiffness can be seen in the right lower abdomen,
and lumps due to abscess formation can be touched.

  • Ultrasound examination

    If the diagnosis is ambiguous, an ultrasound examination can be used to confirm whether it is acute appendicitis.

  • When pressing on the right lower abdomen

    If you feel pain (tenderness) and pain when you lift your hand, you may suspect appendicitis.

  • CT scan

    If symptoms are unclear when pressing on the right lower abdomen, a CT scan may be performed.

Surgery

Early diagnosis and early treatment of acute appendicitis are essential.
If surgery cannot be performed due to various conditions, apply cold compresses
to the area as soon as possible and use strong antibiotics according to the doctor's instructions.
The only treatment for appendicitis is surgical removal of the appendix,
and if surgery is performed early, most cases recover without complications.
